Round displays with GC9A01
Round 1.28″ panels map a 240×240 square frame buffer onto a circular active area. Corners are simply not visible, so design your UI inside a 240 px circle.
Typical use
Smart knobs, wearables, automotive-style gauges and Home Assistant controllers built with ESPHome and LVGL.

GC9A01 troubleshooting & FAQ
Why is my GC9A01 screen black?
Check that the full vendor init sequence is sent (it is much longer than ST7789), that reset is held low for at least 10 ms, and that the backlight pin is driven high or with PWM.
GC9A01 vs ST7789 for round displays?
Most 1.28″ round panels ship with GC9A01. Some newer round modules use ST7789 variants; both run at 240×240 over SPI, so pick the panel first and match the driver in your library config.
